2 corinthians 6: 3-6
3 We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. 4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; 5 in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger
when we are heavily serving in church and we go through personal problems, we let that get in the way of our ability and desire to serve. i'm guilty of it too. but at the end of the day,, who are we serving exactly? first and foremost, we're serving God. secondly, we're serving the church. at the same time, it is very important for us to grow as well.
in addition to his hardships, paul had to face beatings, imprisonment, riots, hunger, etc. seeing that, i thank GOd everyday that i'm not in a situation like that.. as much as Paul probably grew and as stressful i feel like life is sometimes, He uses this to shape us and mold us to the best we can be.
despite everything that goes on, scripture commands that we continue serving despite the hardships and all the distresses that come our way... when you commit to serve God, you make a promise to HIm. the beauty of it all is that He gives us a choice-- whether we continue to stay faithful as His servant, or we can break that promise and falter as a servant of Christ. no one's going to enforce anything, but at the same time, let's think about the purpose of the cross. when we stop serving, we're going against what verse 3 states up there.. lets keep HIS ministry going! perseverence is key,, even if it's going to cost a couple sleepless nights or for us to sacrifice time.
