2 corinthians 4:18
18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
woww what an amazing verse! how easy it is for us to have the need to see it with our own eyes in order for us to believe it. maybe that's just in our nature as humans.. but what scripture wants us to do is to place our sights behind and focus on the one thing that keeps us spiritually fed: FAITH... believing even when we can't see HIm,, choosing to believe even when there is suffering and pain and disasters going on,, this is the very thing that makes us christians.
another thing point i wanna make about this verse is when we view things temporarily vs. eternally. for me as of right now, what keeps me blurry is what's coming up in the next year. i hate having an uncertain future,, my mind won't be at peace unless i know what my plans are.. but so many times, i get too caught up in this that i forget about God's promise for eternal life. i wanna encourage everyone to reflect upon this verse. take a step back if you feel like you've been too caught up with something and come to the realization that He really wants us to be at peace. the only way we can achieve this is by faith.
