ephesians 1:17-18

17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people

praying for others-- one of the hardest things to do as a christian. but something that i'm slowly and surely learning how to do. i know i've shared with many of you already,, but something that God's been teaching me lately is to pray for individuals and to lift up specific names in my prayers,, whether it be my small group members, leaders, those who are suffering, those who havent met God-- i believe in the power of prayer.

recently, one of my non-christian friends has really been challenging me. he's been showing interest in coming to church and i brought him with me this past sunday,, what i realized as i was sitting with him during service and talking with him afterwards is that this kid needs prayer. it's been a while since i brought a non-christian friend to church, but through this, God's been challenging me to step it up when i pray. what i heard from Him: "esther, i hear you and your prayers, now it's time for you to serve not only yourself, but your friends and the people around you."

just as paul prayed for the people of Ephesus, i'm striving to become a servant of God who prays for His people as well.
