mark 1:35

35 Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.

already the end of the semester has come. it's so crazy how fast time flies. considering this coming week is going to be a busy one for most of us, i wanna take time to point out how critical it is to spend time with God, despite how busy our days may be.

this is what jesus did every morning-- He prayed.

this past semester, i tried doing this. when it comes down to it, the biggest problem that led to my spiritual life deteriorating was the fact that i wasn't praying enough. it's a problem that i've identified to be crucial and promised to act upon it, but i wasn't committed enough. i don't have classes on fridays, and i thought that this would be the perfect opportunity to change my ways-- only to find out that this is going to take more than my own effort to completely change. i need HIs help if i wanna do this. the biggest thing that was keeping me from fulfilling this promise,, was sleep. after the week is over, i love sleeping in on fridays.

my goal for this week: spend an hour every day praying and reading the word. if i can accomplish this during finals week, i feel like God will continue to give me strength to persevere and spend time with Him on any ordinary day. committing to HIm and honoring HIm. He deserves the best from us. so let's strive to do what Jesus did. amen? =]
