2 corinthians 1:3-4
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
praise GOd that He is with us in our deserts =] learning to depend on GOd the past year, i've also come to understand that nothing will ever fill me up than God's grace and love will. this is something that i've been asking for and He's been gracious enough to show me every ounce of comfort. i find comfort in thinking of HIm with whatever circumstance arises and in praying and in putting forth the effort to become the best christian that i can be. i realize that no one or thing will ever give me the comfort that He has provided for me. i've grown up in the church,, and it took a good 20 years for God to show me this. it's weird, because i look at people who grew up in a non-christian background and who were saved in high school/college because they attended church one day with a friend and immediately, learned to accept the joy in Christ. honestly, i've never felt that moment of joy. but little by little, He's been showing me how faithful of a God He is and what it means to confide in HIm for that comfort that we are always looking for.
ever heard the phrase "don't tell God how big your storms are- tell the storms how big your God is"..?? i chuckled when i first heard this, but deep down, i was rebuking myself because i've been underestimating GOd's power. **shaking my head at this** the emptiness that we try to fill up by doing other things will never give us the comfort and smile that only HE can give.
